School Districts Serving North San Diego

One of the biggest considerations parents face when purchasing a new home is ensuring that the schools in the area offer the education and experiences their kids need most. In North San Diego, there are a variety of school districts that serve the community.

Solana Beach School District offers seven elementary schools and a Child Development Center.  The newest school, Solana Ranch Elementary was only recently named. The Vista Unified School District boasts 18 elementary schools, five middle schools and seven high schools, including Vista Visions Academy, an independent study school. They also have the Vista Adult School and Regional Occupation Program.

Oceanside Unified School District offers 16 elementary schools, four middle schools and two comprehensive high schools and one alternative high school.  In La Costa, La Costa Canyon High School is part of the San Dieguito Union High School District. This outstanding high school boasts a fantastic 90 percent of graduates who further their education after high school!

The Encinitas Union School District serves the City of Encinitas and the La Costa area of Carlsbad. Their nine schools serve about 5,600 students from kindergarten through the sixth grades. High school students attend La Costa Canyon High School.

Students in Del Mar are educated through the schools of the Del Mar Union School District. Ashley Falls School, Carmel Del Mar School, Del Mar Heights School, Del Mar Hills Academy, Ocean Air School, Sage Canyon School, Sycamore Ridge School and Torrey Hills School all offer outstanding school programs and there are pre-school and after school programs available through the school district.

Cardiff School District offers area residents access to a great education through Ada Harris Elementary School and Cardiff Elementary School. Both are listed as California Distinguished Schools. High school students attend La Costa Canyon High School in Encinitas.

Students living in Carlsbad are served by the Carlsbad Unified School District. There are nine elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools. Each offer students a rich educational and social experience.
